What a hot day. Tomorrow about the same. I can’t wait for September …..
If you were not able to connect to the live masses at either 9 or 11 am this morning, please let me know. We are still working out the bugs, I hope.
Next week, Sunday, we will have the Annual Catholic Appeal, ACA. If you need an envelope, we have them. I hope most of you have sent in your donation already.
This year I fear the ACA won’t do very well. It is the lifeblood of so many of our diocesan ministries. Please contribute if you can.
Our program to raise $5,000 for St. Gloria’s Health Ins. is going well. We have over 1,500 so far. $3,500 more to go.
You have probably read about the death of Georgia congressman John Lewis, who represented his district for some 30 years. He was a giant in the civil rights movement. If you want to be inspired by a life of non-violent work for justice, read his life history.
This week we are going to have to take a very hard look at our parish finances and have a finance committee meeting to work out the details. Paola is finishing up the 2019-2020 budget, last fiscal year. Needless to say, everyone is in the same boat, less income.
